A former Baltimore prosecutor who helped supervise the juvenile division of the city state’s attorney’s office received a one-year sentence for a child pornography charge.
Baltimore County Circuit Judge Nancy M. Purpura sentenced Patrick Moran Wednesday morning.
Moran, 40, pleaded guilty final month to a single count of possession with intent to distribute child pornography.
Several family members, including Moran’s wife, and two attorneys spoke on his half at the hearing.
Moran also spoke, telling the judge, “I just want to recall full responsibility.”
He apologized to his family and colleagues at the state’s attorney’s office. His position was “a job I was fairly proud of,” he said.
The Baltimore state’s attorney’s office has said Moran, a married father of three, was no longer employed there.
Under the plea agreement, Moran faced up 18 months.
Moran will start his sentence on June 14 when he must turn himself into the county jail.
