Speaking to The Mac Life after the signing of the ‘historic contract‘, McGregor said:
It is an honour to sign this record breaking deal alongside my partners Zuffa LLC, The final Fighting Championship and Paradigm Sports Management.
The first, and most essential portion of this historic contract has now officially been signed off on. Congratulations to everyone parties involved. We now await Al Haymon and his boxer’s signature in the coming days.
Although Mayweather has yet to agree to the terms, White stated this contract is a meaningful step on the road to getting McGregor out of the Octagon and Mayweather back in the ring after an nearly two-year hiatus. White also confirmed that it would be a ‘straight up boxing fight’.
This comes just weeks after McGregor’s coach opened up approximately building a specially-designed boxing ring in which the Irish fighter, whose bark is just as imperfect as his bite, can train.
meanwhile, fans and McGregor will maintain to play the waiting game as we are yet to hear from Team Mayweather.
